A View from the Ground: SPD Bundestag Candidate Armand Zorn in Conversation

In this AGI webinar, Bundestag candidate Armand Zorn discusses how he became interested in politics, the reasons for the recent SPD surge in the polls, and the most important issues for the constituents in his district with AGI Senior Fellow Dr. Eric Langenbacher.

With just weeks to go before German voters elect a new parliament, there is no better time to chat with an actual candidate. What is it like to run for a Bundestag constituency? What issues and concerns are motivating voters in 2021? How is the campaign going? What is it like to be one of the few Black candidates for the German parliament? We will discuss these and other questions with Armand Zorn of the Social Democratic Party, who is competing to represent the voters of the Frankfurt am Main I electoral district.

This webinar is supported by the AGI Harry & Helen Gray Culture and Politics Program and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is presented in partnership with The Aston Centre for Europe, Aston University, Birmingham, UK; the International Association for the Study of German Politics; and the BMW Center for German and European Studies, Georgetown University.
