Roundtable with Charles Kupchan
On January 22, 2015, AGI hosted Dr. Charles Kupchan, the Director of European Affairs at the National Security Council, for a roundtable discussion. Moderated by Dr. Jackson Janes, President of AGI, the discussion focused on major current events, including Germany’s role as a European and global player, the current state of the European Union and of German-American relations, the crisis in Ukraine, and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
Dr. Charles A. Kupchan was Professor of International Affairs at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and Whitney Shepardson Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. During that time, he published the book “No One’s World: The West, the Rising Rest, and the Coming Global Turn” (2012). Previously, Dr. Kupchan was Director for European Affairs on the National Security Council during the first Clinton administration. He received a B.A. from Harvard University and M.Phil. and D.Phil. degrees from Oxford University.
