Bilgehan Sarial was born to Turkish parents in Germany. She grew up in a small German town in North Rhine-Westphalia. She moved to Turkey to pursue her studies and received her bachelor’s degree in American Culture and Literature at the University of Ankara. In 2018, she moved to Germany and is now pursuing her master’s degree in North American Studies with a focus in International Relations and History at the University of Bonn. Bilgehan finished her three-month internship at the non-profit organization Amerika Haus e.V. NRW in Cologne, where she assisted in organizing lectures, concerts, discussions, and several events with the aim of strengthening German-American and transatlantic relations.
She is a 2019 participant in AGI’s “Transatlantic Young Leadership Program: Giving Voice to Diversity,” sponsored by the AT&T Foundation.
