During his time in Washington, Dr. Quitzau will focus his research on the question: What holds a society together? The speed at which the world is changing is causing general uncertainty and raises basic questions about national identities and modern lifestyles. Tensions within American society and in European countries are visible signs of the need for new thinking. In this heated environment, the United States and Germany are two important countries who should offer guidance and leadership. In addition, both countries can learn from one another.
