AGI Senior Fellow Sarah Lohmann Speaks on Big Data and Cybersecurity in Ottawa

Washington, DC, Oct. 11, 2018 – AGI Senior Fellow and Manager of AGI’s Cybersecurity Programs Sarah Lohmann spoke on the opportunities for innovation provided by big data and cybersecurity at the Federal Circuit Bar Association’s Global Series in Ottawa, Canada on October 10. Convening just after the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement was signed, judges and attorneys from across the world joined negotiators of the agreement to discuss its impact on the future of everything from commerce to tech.

Dr. Lohmann lauded the agreements recognition of the borderless nature of cyber data in mandating that “No Party shall prohibit or restrict cross-border transfer of information, including personal information,” while providing guarantees that privacy and financial data would be kept safe.

Dr. Lohmann was joined on the panel “The Workbench and Rising System Challenges: AI-ML-Data-IOT” by Corey Salsberg, the Vice President of Novartis, Ian Wetherbee of Google, and Julien Lachere of BCF. U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division, Makan Delrahim, gave the Keynote speech on behalf of the United States.
