Could Obama Get Tougher on Europe?
This recent analysis from David Marsh, Co-Chairman of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) and frequent AGI participant, takes a look at what we might expect for relations between Europe and the United States following the re-election of President Barack Obama. Could President Obama now take a stronger stand towards Europe’s leaders as they continue to seek answers to their own fiscal mess, especially considering it’s effect on the U.S. economy? While only time will tell what is to be made of U.S.-European relations in the coming months, a more outspoken Obama administration could deal a blow to the recently strengthened German-American ties of his first term in office.
