The Transatlantic Economy After the U.S. Election

On November 13, the American Council on Germany, the American-German Institute, and the German American Chamber of Commerce will host a half-day forum on the future of the transatlantic economy following the elections in the United States.

At the forum, Deutsche Bank’s Chief Executive Officer for the Americas Stefan Simon will offer welcome remarks, and Matthew Luzzetti, U.S. Chief Economist at Deutsche Bank, will give a post-election economic outlook. German Ambassador to the United States Andreas Michaelis will share his perspectives on the transatlantic partnership under the new administration that will take shape in Washington. In two panels, experts and practitioners will focus on issues such as mobility and sustainable transportation, innovation, technology, and supply chains. The panels will be moderated by Heike Buchter, founder of New York German Press and New York correspondent for the German weekly Die Zeit, and Katharina Kort, U.S. Bureau Chief and Correspondent for Handelsblatt. Other speakers will include Martin Daum, Member of the Management Board of Daimler Truck; Michael Heinz, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE; and Dr. Guido Skudlarek, President North America of Evonik Corporation. Former Managing Director of the IMF, Dr. John Lipsky, will deliver closing remarks.

This event will take place at the Deutsche Bank Center, 1 Columbus Circle, New York City from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
