Germany and the United States: Partners in Shaping a New International Order?

AGI Symposium

The transatlantic agenda for President Joe Biden and Chancellor Olaf Scholz was already ambitious. When the two leaders met in February 2022 as Russia massed troops on the Ukrainian border, they also discussed managing global competition with China, recovering from the pandemic, and using transatlantic formats to support democracies around the world. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, followed by Chancellor Scholz’s announced Zeitenwende in German foreign policy, has reinforced the need for a strong German-American partnership in a world in flux. This AGI symposium will examine how transatlantic cooperation can address the challenges we face at home and abroad.

Following the symposium, attendees are invited to a reception on the terrace.

Registration is required for this event, and the deadline to register is May 24, 2022. Deutsche Bank Center requires a Government-Issued ID and COVID-19 Vaccination Confirmation upon arrival. Note that all visitor bags will be scanned by Security at the 58th Street Lobby Entrance.

Conferences at Deutsche Bank Center (One Columbus Circle) in-person require all attendees to be fully vaccinated. All attendees are required to comply with all federal, state, and local applicable COVID-19 protocols when onsite, including those COVID-19 protocols implemented by Deutsche Bank and/or the venue location.  We continue to monitor COVID-19 guidance and will provide additional information as needed.
