German Defense and Foreign Policy Priorities

AGI is pleased to welcome guest speakers Markus Grübel, State Secretary in the German Ministry of Defense and Jürgen Hardt, Member of Parliament and Coordinator for Transatlantic Relations in the Foreign Office  for a discussion on January 20, 2015. The conversation will be focused on the current responses of NATO to developments in Ukraine as well as the policy priorities in German defense policies.

Secretary Grübel was appointed to his position in 2013 and has been a member of Parliament since 2002. Jürgen Hardt was appointed Coordinator of Transatlantic Relations in 2013 and has been in the Bundestag since 2009.

In the run-up to the Munich security conference next month the conversations about the future of NATO as well as Germany’s role in it will be front and center. Our conversation will be focused on what can be expected in Berlin and Brussels in the coming year.
