Langhammer Luncheon with Senator Shaheen

September 13, 2012

Throughout the year, AGI hosts a number of high-level meetings with policy-makers and advisors. We are pleased to host our special guest, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, on September 13, 2012, for a private lunch discussion. The day before, the German Constitutional Court will be deciding on whether the new European bailout fund and fiscal pact break German law. The future of the euro is constantly in flux. How can the US help balance economic instability in the European Union and what do the upcoming elections mean for the transatlantic relationship? This off-the-record lunch discussion with Senator Shaheen will explore these questions from an insider’s perspective.

Senator Shaheen (D-NH) has served in the Senate since 2009 and is a member of the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Armed Services, and Energy and Natural Resources. As a chair of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs, Senator Shaheen is committed to helping build strong international alliances to bolster America’s national security and boost the U.S. economy.

This lunch discussion is made possible by a generous grant from Fred H. Langhammer, Chairman of Global Affairs at the Estée Lauder Companies and AGI Chairman Emeritus. As part of our F.H. Langhammer Series on Public Policy, this event will provide a unique opportunity for candid dialogue among a select group of high-level German and American corporate leaders, policymakers, and media.
