Jessica Kuhlmann, NRW Fellow

Jessica Kuhlmann is an NRW Fellow at AGI in August and September 2024. She is a PhD student at the University of Siegen studying the political integration of immigrants in Germany. During her fellowship, she will examine the political integration of immigrants in the United States and Germany, focusing on electoral integration. She will analyze the attitudes of local politicians in Washington, DC, and Maryland (in municipalities with and without noncitizen voting rights) and in North Rhine-Westphalia. The project aims to identify local strategies to mobilize immigrants in the United States and transfer them to local politics in Germany. She has an MA in Social Sciences from the Ruhr University Bochum and a BA in Political Science from the University of Duisburg-Essen.
