Support AGI on Giving Tuesday

AGI is proud to participate in this day of giving again this year.

What exactly is #GivingTuesday? After a series of specially-labeled shopping days—Black Friday, Cyber Monday—Giving Tuesday has usually been intended to kick-off the charitable season. Since its inception in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, the campaign has inspired charitable actions and donations in over 150 countries.

This year, things are different. Many, including the AGI team, have moved to remote operations. Budgets have been cut, tough adjustments have been made, and holiday celebrations are being held online instead of in person. The very real impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has made our home base of Washington, DC, seem like a ghost town.

But the Institute’s work has continued. Since March, we have expanded our outreach to greater-than-ever-before numbers through our great selection of webinars, our prolific output of expert analyses and articles, and our continued social media outreach. We are working differently, but just as effectively.

Still, we need your support. Since 2015, we have been able to use small and large donations to fund the rebuilding of our website, to buy new computers for our fellows, and to fund numerous programs. The Institute accomplishes great things in German-American relations, but we are also a small team of 10 experts, staff, and interns. That means that even small donations go a long way.

How can you help? In addition to our support page, where you can make a tax-deductible donation, there are even more ways to contribute:

  • Double the Donation. You can use this matching gift search through December 8th to see if your employer will match your donation, making your impact even greater!
  • Reach out to us.
