AGI President Dr. Jackson Janes Discusses Cooperation with Russia
Intensifying pressure brought on by waves of refugee migrants to Europe has generated much debate about Germany’s and Europe’s foreign policy choices regarding the war in Syria. On September 18, the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung hosted a conference entitled Denk Ich an Deutschland in Berlin and invited experts for a discussion about these pressing policy issues. Joining the discussion with European Parliament President Martin Schulz, Head of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger, and French political scientist Anne-Marie Le Gloannec, AGI President Dr. Jackson Janes suggests that “We have to walk and chew gum at the same time” by cooperating with Russia on Syria and confronting Russia on Ukraine.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published a summary of the discussion on September 18, 2015. The article is available in German only. You can read it here.
