AGI President Jack Janes in The Economist
With elections in Lower Saxony approaching on January 20th, Germany’s political parties will be looking towards the results as a gauge for what could be expected when all Germans take to the polls in national elections later this year. One party that is going to keep a very close eye on the turnout will be the FDP. The party has been on a downward spiral since receiving a record vote in 2009, and could even find itself on the outside looking in come September. This recent Economist article seeks to shed some light on what has caused this fall from grace for the FDP, as well as what some in the party are trying to do to turn things around. AGI President Jack Janes provided his insight in this piece, believing that even with a poor turnout this weekend, all is not lost for the FDP just yet.
